ANGELA TREVELYAN
(Houte Couture Milliner)

Angela trevelyan Angela Trevelyan, bespoke creator of handmade hats for all occasions, Royal Ascot, Henley, Goodwood, Cheltenham and of course for weddings, Investitures and garden parties – a unique creature for every special event. Each is carefully hand blocked and delicately sewn using materials only of the highest quality; silks from Thailand and India. Straws and sisals from America to quality felts sourced from Czechoslovakia. Discerning clients attend up to three appointments, discussing design through to final fitting and finite adjustments.

Each and every hat is designed to have the ‘wow factor’, to be admired by those who see it, and treasured by those who wear it. Appearing on Antiques Roadshow, Angela displayed her extensive collection of Barbara Cartland hats, not surprisingly admired by all, not least the Presenter, Fiona Bruce! Angela also gives regular talks on Barbara Cartland and other specialist millinery matters, bespoke demonstrations of millinery being a speciality. An Angela Trevelyan Creation, the envy of many, attainable only by the few. Angela initially attended a Millinery Design College in Worcestershire, achieving her City and Guilds after one years intensive study. This was followed by extensive research into all aspects of millinery from manufacture to retail marketing. Intricate and detailed research into the broad spectrum of hat design, both in the United Kingdom and overseas, identified a potential market for bespoke hats with input from the early stages by the client.

In every case, a personal relationship ensures that the innermost needs and wishes of every client are met in infinite detail. Unique to Angela’s creations is the ability to combine a stylish hat and fascinator, the latter being detachable for evening wear if required.

Located in rural Gloucestershire, Angela ensures that each and every creation is perfectly manufactured and finished to the finite detail for the very special event for which it was created.

Angela was also selected as the chosen Milliner for the inaugural Ladies' Day at the 2008 Cheltenham National Hunt Festival. Her creations have also been displayed at numerous fashions shows throughout the country. Angela Trevelyan hats have been on display at Cousins Montpellier Cheltenham and 'me me me' in Winchcombe, Gloucestershire.

Recent commissions include hats for The Garter Service at St Georges Chapel, Windsor, for the presenter of Channel 4 racing at the 2010 Cheltenham Ladies’ Day, Entrants at Crufts, Ladies Day at Aintree, and not least, racing from Dublin. Angela Trevelyan also appeared on Antiques Roadshow where her extensive collection of Barbara Cartland hats were much admired by Fiona Bruce, no less!

We can proudly say that our creations are most competitively priced and indeed our charges for bespoke hats are equal to many factory made items; a bargain indeed!
